Till date only two brands of birth control injections have been introduced, Lunelle and Depo-Provera, both of which have been developed in the United States. Lunelle contains a combination of two female hormones, estrogen and progesterone. However, this injection is currently unavailable in the market. The other Depo-Provera contains the hormone progesterone and is believed to be 100% effective in terms of preventing pregnancy.
