What is BirthControl
Up until the last 30 years or so of the 20th century women didn’t have a lot of options for birth control. So, what was a woman to do about not being pregnant all the time? What is birth control and how was it done before the pill?
Nowadays, you not only need birth control to protect against pregnancy but you need it to protect against sexually transmitted diseases. Practicing safe sex is almost mandatory these days. But with modern technology birth control has come a long ways.
Back in “ye olden times” they employed the use of herbs and poisons to
prevent pregnancy. Although, sexually transmitted diseases weren’t
uncommon, they weren’t as prevalent as they are today. They didn’t have
to worry so much about them. They only had to worry about unwanted
pregnancies.
Mother Nature made the woman’s body to create life, not deny it, so the
monthly cycle is not as regular as some women would like. Plus, no two
women’s cycle is the same. Twenty eight days gives a twenty five percent
fail rate for pregnancy. Just the way Mother Nature planned it to
continue life.
Today’s birth control methods are designed to protect against pregnancy and
to prevent against some diseases. The use of condoms is the best way to
stop any birth control side effects caused by the pill. Your body will
decide what type of side effects you will suffer when you use the pill.
Birth control pills are used by more women today than in any other time but
they do come with disadvantages. You have to take them daily; one missed
pill can lead to an unwanted pregnancy.
There are many ways today for birth control. You can use condoms,
birth control pills, birth control shots, patches, and physical barriers
such as diaphragms or sponges filled with spermicide. All are excellent
ways for birth control but you do have to use them. The natural way has
too many risks involved to depend on Mother Nature.
Remember, what birth control is and how to use it. No method is 100%
perfect but using one or several ways of birth control will prevent that
unwanted pregnancy and unwanted diseases.
