About diabetes 2 type
Diabetes 2 type has reached
epidemic proportions within the US population This number is staggering but
what's more troubling is that the numbers are on the rise and it doesn't look
like it's going to slow down anytime soon. The number one reason for this epidemic
is obesity. Obesity is the highest risk factor to the road of diabetes 2 type.
The following list of signs and symptoms are common people developing diabetes 2 type.
This is not complete list, but
if you experience any of these signs of diabetes, you should see a doctor
immediately.
Do you have blurry vision?
When blood glucose levels tend
to rise and fall to extreme levels, as in the case of someone developing
diabetes, the lenses in your eye may shrink and swell. Vision gets blurry
because your eye cannot adjust quickly to the lens size. Blurred vision is an
important sign of diabetes 2 type to watch for.
Also remember, any sudden
problems with eyesight should be checked immediately by a doctor. There are
many medical conditions that can cause problems with eyesight, and some can be
treated successfully, but only if treated within the first few hours.
Do you feel tired all the time or suffer from extreme fatigue?
In diabetes 2 type, your body
cells do not get the glucose they need for energy and this causes fatigue.
Because a type 2 diabetic is developing insulin resistance, you may even have
enough insulin in your bloodstream.
Fatigue is easy sign of
diabetes to ignore. With today's hectic schedules, with the demands of family,
work, other sources of stress, it's easy to think that being tired is just
normal. Not having enough energy to do normal daily activities and feeling like
you are ready to fall asleep all time are not normal. This type of fatigue is a
good sign that you need to see a doctor and be checked for diabetes.
Are your legs and feet numb?
Known as diabetic neuropathy,
a feeling of constant numbness in your legs or feet is a sign of diabetes that
comes too late. By the time the nerves in your body and especially your legs
and feet have been damaged the point that you feel numbness, you most likely
have had diabetes for a while. Diabetic neuropathy usually takes at least five
years to get to the point that you feel numbness. In fact, statistically most
people who develop diabetic neuropathy have had diabetes 2 type for over 10
years.
You do not have any sexually transmitted diseases but you feel constant itching in the private area.
Diabetics have a tendency
towards yeast infections. This is especially true in the genital area, which
tends to have high glucose levels. If you have constant itching in your genital
area and are sure that you do not have any STDs, then this it could be a sign
of diabetes 2 type.
Catching the signs of diabetes early is important in the treatment of diabetes
With early detection of the
signs of diabetes, many of the more severe complications can be avoided. Do not
take chances, if you suspect diabetes, even with symptoms different from these,
see a doctor immediately. Only with proper medical testing can you be sure of
the signs of diabetes.
