Have A Shine-Free Face
It’s very obvious that greasy skin has more causes than finding a solution to it. But don’t feel sad because there is ONE big advantage of having a greasy skin.
Oily skin tends to age better and having less
wrinkles than to some of those who have dry or normal skin. Indeed, the best
advice most dermatologists would give to their patients is to keep the skin
clean.
You might still be bothered what causes it don’t
you? So better look below as I give you some of the common reasons.
- Hormone
change - Most of the pregnant women would experience this and may notice
an increase in skin oil as hormonal activity will rapidly rise and
changes.
- Hereditary
- Stress,
depress and tired.
- Applying
or using wrong cosmetic products and make-up.
- Taking
contraceptive pills - If you think your pills is making your skin so
greasy, why not talk to your doctor about changing to a more
oestrogen-dominant type.
Meanwhile, here are some simple tips and ways that
you can do to achieve a shine free face.
1. Try using a mud pack
Using some clay or mud masks will help cleanse the
skin of surface greasiness and tone the skin up for a while but the effects for
this are only temporary and short term but worth trying if you are looking for
a cheaper solution.
2. Use a medicated soap and warm water
I must say that finding a drying soap is not a
problem in this case but finding a soap that won’t make the skin dry is
more difficult and challenging. According to some dermatologists, warm water is
a good solvent especially when washing greasy skin with a medicated soap as it
helps to dissolves skin oil better than having cold water and soap.
Expensive Option: Try some decreasing soaps such as Ego QV bar or
even Neutrogena would do.
Cheaper Option: If you are on tight budget, you may use some ordinary soap that you have
at home and just lightly scrub it on you skin. Just do it gently ok?
3. Use some mild astringent after shower.
Dermatologists say that rather than washing your
skin all the time in a day which makes your skin irritated and really dry,
you’re better off carrying some astringent pads with you and use them to
cleanse your face.
Expensive Option: Neutrogena
Clear Pore Oil Astringent or J&J pH 5.5 and Clearasil Daily Face Wash as
your toner.
Inexpensive Option: For some inexpensive astringent, why not use some with witch hazel
and mix it up small quantity of avocado and water. Let it stay in your face or
body for a couple of minutes and rinse.
Now you have to remember that alcohol-free astringent
are not as effective with an alcohol base but they are great help if your skin
is really sensitive.
4. Use herbal tea bags.
Cheaper Option: Make a weak
tea using a little bit of lemon balm and lavender. Mix it together and let it
strain and cool. After that, you can apply it to your greasy skin with a cotton
ball. Another one is to use a tea bag and dab it to your oily areas in a
several weeks.
5. Choose a proper cosmetic according to your skin type.
Make-up comes into two major categories - water-based
and oil-based. If you have oily skin, you should only use water-based products.
Again, according to some experts, the reason for this is that they soak ip and
cover oiliness so that your skin doesn’t look as greasy as it is.
But here’s the truth!
No cosmetics has any magical ingredient to slow
down or stop oil production.
