Is it possible to choose the best meditation type at all? Of course, the answer is NO. What is best for you can be worst for me, so it is not recommended to try to proclaim what is best meditation generally. We post this topic here only in order to stress the importance of recognizing what could be best meditation FOR YOU.

One can heavily choose among all different types of meditation; it is, of course, not recommended to try them all. However, you might try few of them and see what works best for you. Actually, it is highly recommended to experiment with many different meditation techniques in the beginning of your spiritual adventure.

Different Meditations for Different Needs

The best approach is when you know how different types of meditation work for different situations, needs or problems you have in your life. We everyday meet situations that are stressful for our minds and bodies, so it is highly practical to analyze your momentary situation and apply the best meditation method to affect this situation positively.

This is why being informed about different types of meditation, their effects and benefits can be crucial to give yourself what you really need. However, the personal experience with different techniques is your best teacher in choosing your best meditation. Know yourself and know what you really need.

Best Meditation Teacher

If you are not able to recognize your priorities, or you don’t have enough knowledge and practical experience, it is good to ask for help from highly experienced meditator or some expert who leads some group, teaching them to meditate. There are plenty of such groups everywhere; becoming a member of one will also strengthen your motivation to meditate regularly as you will meet people with similar interests like yours.

Don’t be afraid to ask many questions, your teacher (or guru) is there for you and he/her will give you the best possible advice. However, be aware that there are plenty of false gurus, who manipulate people for money. Before becoming a member of a group, try to collect as much information about it as possible, including the methods of work.

Think like this:

• If you need deeper answers on your existence and life purpose, you should try some of the methods of Reflective meditation.

• If you need to grow spiritually, try some Chakra meditation, Zen or Transcendental ones.

• If you lack concentration about your priorities, try some Concentration meditation model with purpose.

• If you are experiencing some health problems, get informed on which chakra should be stimulated in order to heal yourself.

• If you need stress relief and control over your thoughts, you should practice Mindful meditation.

• If you need something specific, try to manifest it in your life by Visualization meditation.

Etc.

We want to stress again: Know yourself, know your needs and know what meditation is. This way you will know your best meditation and there is no other way.

Best meditation occurs when you achieve the goal (or goals) of meditation. Being it some enlighten feeling of divine, deeper love emotions, improvement of your health status, or something else, you will know was it best for you when you open your eyes after the meditation.

As for us, we have no dilemma – every meditation is best meditation. Even if it is some simple meditation exercise, it is upon our will, belief, and discipline to make it best for us.
