Simple Home Remedies for Rheumatism
One of the most dreaded diseases today is rheumatism,
which afflicts bone joints and causes inflammation and causes soreness in them.
Gradually, as the disease progresses to more adverse stages, the joints become
deformed and the patient becomes invalid. Generally, rheumatism manifests
itself in middle aged people and affects areas of joints such as arms, wrists,

1. Orange Juice with Cod Liver Oil
Mix a glass of orange juice with a table spoonful of cod

Slice up a potato, without removing its peel. Soak thesesslices overnight, in a glass of water and drink the water on empty stomach in

3. Bitter Gourd Juice
Another remedial measure for rheumatism is biter gourd
juice. A cup of the juice mixed with a teaspoon of pure honey, consumed daily
for three months, shows excellent results for treating rheumatism.
4. Mustard Oil
An infusion prepared by heating a 10 g piece of camphor
in a cup of mustard oil is a tried and tested remedy for this disease. The oil
can be stored in a bottle and used for joint massage for relief from pain and
inflammation. You can alternatively boil a few cloves of garlic in mustard oil
for this purpose.
5. Honey and Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix 2 teaspoons each, of honey and apple cider vinegar in
a glass of warm water. Consume this drink daily to reduce the symptoms of
rheumatism.
6. Lemon Juice
Mix a teaspoon of lemon juice in half a glass of warm
water and drink it every morning. A tablespoon of the mixture of lemon juice
and carrot juice in equal quantities, is equally effective for treating
rheumatism in the natural way.
7. Walnuts
A delicious way to counter the soreness and inflammation
caused by rheumatic disease is to chew of a handful of walnuts every day.
8. Rosemary Oil
Rosemary oil is a highly effective essential oil, used in
aromatherapy. A few drops of this oil are to be added to a bucketful of warm
water. Immerse the affected joint area in the water and feel the instant pain
relief you get with this soothing remedy.
9. Green Grams
Prepare sprouts of half a cup of green grams by soaking
them in some water overnight. Add salt and pepper to taste, toss in a few
cloves of crushed garlic and mix well. Consume the mixture twice a day for
relief from pain due to rheumatism.
10. Water Stored in Copper Vessel
Another effective home remedy for rheumatism is to store
some clean water in a copper vessel overnight and have it the next morning.
This remedy is known for rejuvenating and strengthening bones and joints.
Besides these home remedies, the best way to counter the
problem of rheumatism is to consume a balanced diet, which is rich in minerals
like calcium and magnesium as well as vitamin C. At the same time, one should
avoid foods which cause weakening of bones and joints, such as carbonated
drinks, caffeine and alcohol. Also, stay away from heavy foods, which cause
bloating. Regular exercise and physical activity are also helpful for keeping
bones and joints in a good shape. Use lukewarm water for drinking and bathing.
